Mooresville
Mooresville is located in southern Iredell County in the Piedmont region of North Carolina. The Town’s location between the Charlotte metropolitan area and the city of Statesville, has created diversified employment opportunities. The Town is the municipal center of the Mooresville-South Iredell region, an area that boasts Lake Norman, the state’s largest man-made lake with miles of shoreline.
The Town has experienced significant residential and commercial growth in recent years. The Town’s employment base is diversified including corporate headquarters, manufacturing, medical, governmental and retail activities. Mooresville is also known as Race City USA, and attracts new and expanding investments by numerous NASCAR teams. Mooresville’s downtown area offers a variety of goods and services including retail, governmental services and the community’s Charles Mack Citizen Center.
Mooresville is located within 15 miles of three interstate highways and is approximately 23 miles from the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. Interstate 77 passes through the Town and Interstates 40 and 85 are within a 15-minute drive.
Davidson
Located 30 miles north of Charlotte, Davidson is a Southern college town. This town is home to Davidson College.
Davidson’s main street has shops, wide sidewalks, a community library, and flowers everywhere. Our town green is used for pick-up football games, coffee sessions, play dates, festivals, croquet matches, and outdoor concerts. They are passionate about diversity. Davidson requires that 12.5% of all new development is affordable to encourage all types of homes and all types of citizens.
They believe in open space. In the last five years the Town has acquired almost 500 acres of open space. Miles of greenways and walking trails connect neighborhoods providing citizens with alternate ways to get around town and access nature up close.
Even their interchange is different. When you drive off the interstate into Davidson, you see offices, restaurants and hotels but you also see green space, homes, schools and shops all accessible by pedestrians.
